The Complete and Possibly Truth-Stretching History of BOO!

by Billy

Though it was forged in MSPaint by one man, the story of BOO! was a tale that has existed in the minds and the souls of people world-wide for generations. It rolled off the tongue of every schoolchild, it had its story told by graffiti in back alleys, and even the halls of rest-homes echoed the tale. Knowing the significance and history behind this story, I knew I had to do something. I knew that I had to bring this tale to life in a way never before seen. So I sat down and for many years I painstakingly transferred this legend into the form you see today. When BOO! was first introduced to the internet, it was during simpler times. It was during a time where morals were valued over gold, and children argued if they DID NOT have to wear their school uniform.

It was 2008. (more…)

Blow Up Halloween

by Jeremy

While we have more than covered our fare share of amazing Halloween decorations, it’s unfortunate to see the popularity of these highly detailed decorations fall over the last few years. While I can understand the economy isn’t quite as friendly as it once was to people that wanted to blow 500 bucks on a decapitated zombie to prop up in their yard for a few weeks, it’s certainly a sad state of affairs when the things replacing those awesome decorations are so absolutely fucking terrible. Namely these goddamn things:

I guess it also doubles as a night light.

COMIC: Jeremy Is No Science Man

by Amanda

I’ve been talking about it for years now, but I’ve finally done it.  I have finally made an old style of comic.  It has been like four years since the last one!  Awful.  Speaking of awful, I forgot how long these take to do.  From conception to scanning to this moment right here where I am posting it, it’s been thirteen hours.  Anyway, welcome back to Unicorn Valley.  And what better way to welcome us all back than with the OMGJ Staff of Writers starring, rather than the fictional guys, right?  Lord I am deliriously tired!  Whooo!   (more…)

Halloween Comic #1: A Gruesome End

by Amanda
Welcome to a spoooky edition of my dumb AIM comics.  This week I am frightening you all with a disgusting tale from Jeremy’s real life.  Only he isn’t Jeremy in this one – he is Frankenjeremy!  This is actually taken from a conversation between him and Billy, who is zombified for the season, so it marks the first comic that doesn’t involve me directly.  I hope this scares you.  But not TOO much.  I don’t want to be responsible for you wetting your pants AGAIN. Dream Time Theatre: The Werewolf Dream

by Esther

I woke up to my alarm clock with mixed feelings this morning. For some reason I couldn’t pinpoint I felt like a total jerk even though I hadn’t done a single thing yet that day. Then my dream of the night before started to come back in bits and pieces while I was brushing my teeth. Amazing, horrible, and wonderful bits and pieces. This may be a testament to the fact I watch far too many horror movies but here, at least what I remember of it is what I will forever forward call “The Werewolf Dream.”

Which Came First: My Nightmares or This Game?

by Amanda

You find yourself in a maze filled with edible orbs, and you are not alone. Monsters lurk in this place, is it a dungeon? Is it a castle? Is it a level of Hell? You must run from these evil things, oh! You catch a glimpse! They’re g-g-ghosts! Vengeful spirits of the damned chase you, wishing to devour your soul. So you run. You dodge them by darting into unused corridors! Oh god but there are more! Mindlessly being forced to eat orbs as you run in terror, you stumble upon one that causes the ghosts to flee from YOU. Ha ha! Who’s chasing whom NOW, you fiends?! You gobble them up for a few seconds, not nearly enough seconds. Then their fear is over. You didn’t kill any of them. You do not simply kill ghosts. The chase is on again, and again, and again. Until you somehow eat all of the orbs. Then it all starts over. (more…)

Halloween Deco For the Hardcore

by Jeremy

Capture

So we’ve come upon another Halloween season, left once again to ponder the various ways we can decorate our house and yard in a manner that will hopefully scar small children for decades to come. This is, after all, the only holiday we can legally do this without being reprimanded, so we might as well go out of our way once a year, right? Besides, there is no better feeling of pride than seeing a small child flee from your yard, shrieking for his life. It’s something that stays with you, and can be used to express joys that most other people associate with other events. Some people speak fondly of their marriage, or first child. We, on the other hand, cherish the day we made a seven year-old defecate on himself after the mechanical zombie hand busted through the candy dish at his face. (more…)

NEWS UPDATE: Haunted News from Terrorville

by STAFF

Well it is October here on OMGJ, and from what I hear, it is October in the rest of the free world, also.  You know what this means.  That’s right – an entire solid month of Halloween-themed content!  This year we are doing things a little differently, however.  We have so much old material that is good enough to look over again that we are recycling some every single day!  EVERY DAY!  That includes the weekends, kids.  Can you handle it?  Can WE handle it??
