Netlix Instant Queue Fridays: Police Academy
You know what? Fuck you. I already hear the groans coming from your direction from this one. But like it or not, Police Academy is a pretty damn funny movie. And even more shocking is that it still holds up pretty well. Now I will wholeheartedly agree that this series went on far past its prime. Even spawning an amazingly bad Saturday morning cartoon that could have an entire feature written on it alone. The original film though, is still pretty damn good. Again, fuck you. Here’s a goddamn trailer for it to make the vomit rising in your throat taste that much worse:
Yeah it’s old as hell. But who cares? Funny is funny. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to sit here and let you badmouth one of cinema’s finest. As mentioned above though, I wouldn’t stray much past the first movie. While Old Man Holiday will preach his eternal love for Police Academy 3, the rest of us sane individuals probably wouldn’t be able to stomach the further adventures of the police academy crew. There’s also the scientific fact that you can only watch one Steve Guttenberg movie without getting a rash in your armpit, and this may as well be it. So do yourself a favor and stick to the one and only Police Academy movie worth watching.
