News Update September 28: Scary News from Terror Town

Hello, fancy readers! Welcome to another addition of OMGJ News Update! You might have noticed that we did five day week updates for a bit, then failed utterly once or twice. It is to be expected, and I am sure none of you are surprised. However! This week will be a five day update plan, and then the ENTIRE MONTH of October will be just as packed. God, so packed. But this update isn’t going to just be about October, we intend to let you know a little about our personal lives as well, if only for a second, because I think it will go a long way towards letting you understand what is going on here.

Jeremy: A Life of Turmoil

We all know of Jeremy of OMGJeremy, but what do we REALLY know?? Contrary to what is probably popular belief, he is not actually a simple machine that randomly generates articles that may or may not make sense or have humorous content or hilarious personal tales of tragedy. In fact, he is a real man, with relatively-real man situations. This past month he has begun working a second job, gone apartment hunting, located an apartment, and is about to move into this apartment with his girlfriend by the end of this week. All of this, plus writing new content and updating this site to the best of his exhausted ability. Sometimes, it is actually amazing that he updates at all, even when we have heaps of material available. Which of course we really don’t.

Billy: Personal Loss and Working Hard

Our distinguished Southern Gentleman writer, Mr Holiday, has had a difficult September. His beloved grandfather passed away quite suddenly, which is always a tough time, as most of us know. However, he is a born trooper and tried not to let grief and situational depression stand in his way of writing and living life. What a champion. However, between that and the fact that his work at a local hospital really became very active for reasons unknown, his ability to write reviews on games, wrestling, movies, and childhood memories were somewhat restricted, as you can imagine. Despite all things, he does report that October should bring an all-time high in his site involvement, so keep your eye on this go-getter!

Jeremy P: Big Steps in Adulthood

Our most mysterious writer, Jeremy P, has gone and got himself married on September 24th, and is going to be honeymooning all week long. It did come as quite a surprise to most of the staff, as we had assumed that he would be an eternal bachelor, and his only “girlfriend” would be a stained couch cushion. It turns out that we were very wrong and we offer our sincerest apologies and best wishes to this king of men. He reports that after this honeymoon, he will be back writing three or four times a month just like always, so we need not fear that his new wife will cruelly tear him away from us.

Amanda: Hey That’s Me!

I am totally not into writing about myself in third person today, so I’ll just say it all plainly for you. This past month, I have been working harder than ever on site content, editing, proofreading, getting updates together, drawing up calendars, keeping Jeremy focused and on track, and all of that stuff. Simultaneously, I have also grappled with an intense depression, aged another year right on time, and gotten myself embroiled in about eleventy billion outside, non-OMGJ projects. I am really trying my best here, kids, but I was never really known for being extremely organized, productive, or motivated even in the best of times. That being said, I have also been taught how to update OMGJ all by myself so that when Jeremy is too busy for everyone, I will have an additional obligation piled on top of my already-full plate. Huzzah! Anticipate hilarious Update Mishaps as I learn through trial and error.

BUT WAIT — Some GOOD NEWS!?

Well, I suppose it is “good” if you happen to like Halloween! And who here DOESN’T like it, right?? OMGJeremy has a tradition of enjoying this, the orangest of all holiday seasons. We usually try to bring you new spooky content every year throughout the entire month of October and THIS October is no different! Actually it IS a little different because we will probably have more Halloween than ever before! That’s right, five day weeks of updates, two items per day! We will have film reviews, costume discussions, group articles where we relate anecdotes, comics, a return of Billy’s masterpiece comic called BOO! including behind-the-scenes footage and a sequel!, a look at silent horror movies, guest pieces, speculations, mysteries, and FRIGHT! We have been preparing ourselves for a week or two now, and we are ready, kids. WE ARE READY!! And we hope that you are too!
